Early Intervention
#COVID19: All face to face home visits and socialization events (playgroups, parent meetings, etc.) are cancelled until further notice. In the meantime, home visitors will reach out about scheduling virtual visits. We encourage families to keep in touch with their home visitors – they are working remotely and are available to assist. **We are still enrolling families! Apply here**
Early Intervention provides services to children who are showing developmental delay or who have a condition strongly linked with developmental delay such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or Autism. We serve families that live in Washington County (Part C Provider for Utah Baby Watch Early Intervention) and in the Arizona strip (AZEIP).
Infants and toddlers learn best through everyday experiences and interactions with familiar people in familiar contexts, that’s why our team meets with caregivers in the home or other natural environment to provide the necessary supports and resources caregivers need to enhance each child’s learning and development.
Services
Our team works with each family based on their child’s and family’s individual needs. After a full evaluation of hearing, vision, health and developmental domains, an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed in partnership with the family to identify the family concerns, priorities and resources. We then build upon and provide supports and resources to assist family members and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through routine learning opportunities. Frequency and duration of services depends on each family’s need.

Eligibility and Enrollment
Eligibility is based on income and families are chosen based on seriousness of need. Outreach is conducted throughout our service area to ensure that we reach the families who traditionally slip through the cracks.
“Rayanna has been working with my child for a few months now. She is absolutely wonderful and she gives great advice. My child also loves Play Strategies. I’m so happy Root for Kids was recommended to us.”
